GOSPEL COMMUNITY PANEL DISCUSSION - 7:30 - 9:30 PM
The Gospel music community in Canada is growing and has had a recording ‘footprint’ in Ontario since the mid-to late 1970s. Not since the creation of the 'Association of Gospel Music Ministries (AGMM)' in Toronto in 1986 (from which the Toronto Mass Choir got its start) has there been any forum to grapple with important topics that affect the Gospel Music community. Questions such as:
How is the Gospel Community doing? How are Gospel musicians supported/able to make a living? Should they be able to make a living? Are our local churches supporting this community? Are local Gospel artists supporting churches? Can we do better developing our younger Gospel vocalists and instrumentalists and what might this look like? Are we in need of cohesion? Do we want to be connected?
PowerUp week is an awesome opportunity to gather and have important conversations. Gospel artists, pastors, worship leaders, church musicians and Gospel music lovers--come out on Wednesday, February 20 at 7:30 pm and take part in a panel discussion facilitated by Karen Burke and featuring some of Canada’s most beloved and respected Gospel artists.
